HELP

Competitions may be viewed in two forms, (i) either as an html page online, or (ii) as a pdf file either online or, offline on your computer once you have downloaded it.

.html format

The first page you view is a summary table, indicating the 'name' of the competition, the prize, the means of entry, and the closing date, eg., 

To see the full details, just click on the competition description, and you will be taken to a new page carrying just that competition information, eg., the link to the competition in yellow above, looks like this -

To get back to the summary page, use the button.

pdf format

If you use the mouse to 'left click' the link to this format, and your computer has the program Adobe Acrobat Reader (and most computers will have!), then the pdf file will open online in which the competition details are displayed as one continuous list.  These can be read online by scrolling up and down as appropriate.  Alternatively, the details can be printed out, or the entire file can be saved to your computer.  To achieve the latter, you will note that the Adobe Acrobat Program has opened within the Internet Explorer window, such that the toolbar of this program is immediately above the competition details.  Thus, the save button is in at the top left hand corner of this toolbar and is represented by a floppy disc icon.

If you use the mouse to 'right click' on this link, and then choose 'Save As' form the menu box that appears, then you can save the file directly to your computer.

So the html file system is the quickest way to check competition information, and is ideal for those of your with unlimited access to the internet.

The pdf file is perfect for those of you who wish to be able to access the information without having to be connected to the internet.  It also provides the most convenient method of obtaining a hard copy of the information if people so desire.

This lists all those competitions that have been added since the previous Sunday.

This section is our main database, listing all known comps that have yet to close. They are divided both on the basis of the month in which they close and by competition type, eg., whether they do or don't require an entry form, whether a question or tiebreaker is involved, etc.

This is also the section in which you'll find the pdf files of 'New this Week' and 'All Current Competitions', which you can download if you choose to do so..

DOWNLOADS
The links below are to 3 'pdf' files.  To view them you will need Acrobat Reader.  In the unlikely event that you do not have this program, use the link in the centre to go to the adobe website and download a free copy.  If you click on the two links with the left mouse button, the files will open online with Acrobat Reader.  You can then save the file to your computer.  Alternatively, click your right mouse button, and choose 'Save Target As' from the menu box that appears. A 'Save As' menu box will then appear, where you can choose the location on your computer where you save the file.  Once it is on your computer, you can disconnect from the internet and view, and print, the file at your leisure!

You will also find a third pdf file which is a 'Check list' of all outstanding competitions requiring entry forms. You may wish to print this out as a shopping. list for reference when entry form hunting, eg.,

We have also included a link to the Adobe website where you can download the program you will need to read pdf files, in the unlikely event that your computer had not got this program installed.

View the winning slogans from competitions that closed within the last 12 months

This provides access to a comprehensive database of slogans (35, 000 and growing!) which have won consumer competitions over the last ten years.  This database can be interrogated in two ways.  [1] You can search for any word or phrase using an online search facility.  [2] You can select slogans on the basis of a predetermined set of key words chosen by 'Dot' Comper.   

Exchange comping troubles and tips, sell and buy unwanted prizes, and generally get to know your fellow compers, all under the watchful 4 eyes of "Dot", everyones favourite moderator.
