We arrived in Sydney late in the evening. It was so nice to walk out of the airport into a lovely warm breeze to the sound of cicadas and Lorikeets.  We started exploring early the next day and took in the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour which was buzzing with .    ...... .......   ........   still can’t believe all this happened thanks to one winning slogan and if I never win anything ever again, this trip will keep me entering comps for years to come!   [... more ... ]

This has to be one of best wins I have ever won, it was really fantastic.

Friday 22^nd April first class train to London, we were given a £20 allowance for a taxi to get to the 5 star Langham Hotel in Regent Street.  It made a nice change going first class and we made the most of it!!  We arrived at London at about 5pm and got taxi to Hotel, it only cost £5 in taxi !  We got changed in  our executive room     [... more ... ]

The ascent was very smooth and we hardly seemed to be moving, as we glided silently along. Everybody was quiet, just taking in the wonderful views. Sometimes the pilot brought the balloon down low and we skimmed across the tree tops and could hear dogs barking and lambs bleating, then he went up higher and we saw a large portion of South Wales spread out before us .... .... .... .....  I wouldn't hesitate to take another one (I have already entered several comps to win one). I don’t even know which competition it was that resulted in a letter from Protravel saying I had won three nights for two in Reykjavik from the E45 Promotion. But it became real last Thursday when, after a short flight,we took our first glimpse of this still-young country .... .... .... .... .... What an experience!   And as there’s a comp at the moment to win a holiday in Iceland, who knows who’ll be next?  [... more ... ]

There was an inter-activity session followed by an Audience with Wayne Rooney (Manchester United and England). He was accompanied by Peter Shilton (former England goalkeeper), Mark Lawrenson (former Ireland international, now BBC football pundit), and BBC presenter Ray Stubbs.  .... .... .... .... ....  It was the first time this new trophy has been seen in Britain - and I was there were for the prestigious unveiling. We set off from Gatwick aboard a DC10 on the long flight to Minneapolis/St Paul (the twin Cities). We had a really good flight with only a little turbulence. Leaving behind snow showers in England   .... .... .... .... ....  This fantastic prize has whetted my appetite for more travel. My Son Vida Experience.

Still coming down from the my trip to Mallorca.  Everything ran very smoothly and we were picked up at Palma Airport in a chauffer driven Mercedes. It was quite a thrill to see the uniformed chauffer holding up a card with MY name on it.

Before our win, we had never really considered visiting Ibiza, as we had expected it would be full of clubbers, and beautiful young people wearing little more than a smile and a tan. And true enough, if you stuck to the main resorts, that’s exactly what it was. But we soon discovered there is another Ibiza that is both unspoilt, quiet and well worth a visit.    [... more ... ]

We have just come back from our weekend at the Newcastle Baltic Quays apartment. It was lovely.. two bedrooms, two bathrooms , kitchen, and a living room directly overlooking the millenium blinking eye bridge, then Flowers, champagne, chocs, and a chauffeur driven limo to Vujon, a fantastic indian restaraunt on saturday night.
Best of all it was on the seventh floor, with a balcony overlooking the millennium bridge   [... more ... ]

Arrived at Heathrow on Saturday morning and whilst checking in for our flight at the Olympic Airways desk, we met two other couples who had also won their trip in the same comp (there were 5 prizes altogether). Great flight -    [... more ... ]

Somerfield Romania Ski Holiday

Must be our best ski holiday ever !!  We have had the most incredible time and would recommend it to anyone. We arrived on Saturday evening after a very comfortable flight and pleasant transfer to find that there was plenty of a snow in Poiana Brasov. The hotel was really nice with lovely spacious rooms and as we were on the first floor, at the front, with a huge balcony, we had wonderful views  [... more ... ]

My Hong Kong holiday!

Arrived back yesterday morning, still jetlagged.  It was the best holiday I've been on!!!

We flew to Hong Kong with Cathay Pacific, the meal was OK - usual veggie option.  We had a smooth 12 hour flight and landed in Hong Kong at about 10ish their time.  We met the other couple who we were told were on the same flight, apparently a friend of theirs won the hol and gave it to them anyway - they were a lovely couple   [... more ... ]

Hi everyone thought I would tell you how my recent win went!  As you know after winning this prize I was unsure wether my husband would actually come with me! Anyway after much bullying and threatening to take this cute Rugby player at work he finally agreed to go.

We got to London just before 12 and headed straight for our favourite haunt – the Hard Rock Café. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed due to a recent fire and won’t be open until September. Happily we found a pub round the corner and had a spot of lunch before making our way across Green Park to the Palace. Disney World was everything we'd hoped for and more. We all had a great time courtesy of my win with Cathedral City. It was fantastic from start to finish and I still can’t believe that all this has come from this wonderful hobby of ours. I never imagined I would win something like this. My expectation was perhaps to win a DVD or a book or two if I was lucky and I truly never expected that I would win a holiday so I had to keep pinching myself to remind me that this was real.   [... more ... ]

How it all began!!

We haven’t always been into “Comping”.  Before we saw "the light", the only comper we were aware of was my father, who had been entering competitions for as long as I could remember.  We used to find it all rather "quaint" and slightly pointless, especially as all he ever seemed to win were T-shirts and T-towels!  That was until that fateful Christmas some fourteen years ago when my mum bought him the comping game   .... .... .... .... ....     [... more ... ]
