CStill coming down
from the my trip to Mallorca.
Everything ran very smoothly and we were picked up at Palma
Airport in a chauffer driven Mercedes. It was quite a thrill
to see the uniformed chauffer holding up a card with MY name
on it.
Soon we arrived at the Castillo Son Vida. I have stayed in a
few hotels in my time, but this was, by far the most
impressive. The hotel is built around a 13th century castle.
It is full of antiques and beautiful paintings. The whole
hotel was decorated for Christmas, and we even had a small
tree in our room.
There was Champagne in our room on arrival which we soon
polished off. The room was fabulous, beautifully furnished and
everything we could possible need was there including dressing
gown, slippers and even an umbrella - not that we needed it.

The staff were
very helpful and nothing was too much trouble.
As part of my prize we had a hydro massage. I thought "hydro"
- "water" will definitely need to wear my cossy. Felt a bit of
an idiot when I found that you don't actually get wet! In fact
is was like a water bed. You lay down on it and when it is
switched on it's like being transported to heaven!
Water jets massage you - but it's under the surface so no
water touches you. This was really relaxing and quite an
experience. This was followed by a traditional massage with
oils. Came out of there feeling like a million dollars.
Dinner was also quite an experience. Everything served by
really super staff. The food was exquisitely presented and
looked too good to eat. and was "presented" to us under big
silver covers. Two waiters would bring the two meals, nod to
each other and then remove the covers exactly at the same
time. It was all so perfect.
Breakfast was just as impressive everything from cornflakes to
champagne!
We filled our time sightseeing, and just lazing around, using
the facilities in the hotel (indoor pool, steam room etc). Had
a really lovely, relaxing break and am now all set up for
Christmas.
